The GlenAllachie 2014/2025 – Sinteis Series Edition 1 Chinquapin & PX Casks marks the bold debut of a new limited series by whisky legend Billy Walker. With “Sinteis” – Scottish Gaelic for “synthesis” – Walker showcases his mastery in marrying bold innovation with traditional craftsmanship. For this first edition, Walker selected a daring combination of Virgin Oak barrels made from rare Chinquapin oak and First Fill Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheons from a stock of over 50,000 casks. The Chinquapin oak, native to Missouri’s Ozark Mountains, delivers sweet spice, anise, and toasted notes, while the PX casks contribute rich aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruits, and ripe berries. Bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.8% ABV, this single malt is non-chill-filtered and free from coloring. Visually, the release is equally compelling, featuring a striking design by Scottish artist Kayley Barbour. The packaging, adorned with a hand-drawn foil emblem, symbolizes the elegant fusion of these two wood styles.
