Which Whisky Tastings Are Coming Up at the Spiritory Shop in Munich?
Three whisky tastings are on the calendar at the Spiritory Shop in Munich this autumn: the Kilkerran Tour Tasting on 25 October, which is sold out, a Yamazaki tasting on 29 October with the new Yamazaki Refill Spanish Oak Limited Release Edition 2026, and a Glendronach masterclass on 27 November for the distillery's 200th anniversary. A fourth evening, dedicated to Glenfarclas, is in preparation, and every tasting seats 12 guests for about two hours in the shop at the Stemmerhof.
Key Takeaways
The Yamazaki tasting on Thursday 29 October at 19:30 costs €79 and had three of its 12 seats left when this article was published.
The Glendronach masterclass on Friday 27 November at 19:30 costs €59 and pours six expressions, led by the new Boynsmill House Edition.
The Kilkerran Tour Tasting on Sunday 25 October is fully booked.
A Glenfarclas evening is being planned. Date, lineup and tickets will appear on the tastings page as soon as they are confirmed.
Every tasting takes place in person at Plinganserstraße 6 in Munich, lasts about two hours and is open to guests aged 18 and over.
Tip: Seats at the shop tastings are limited to 12 per evening, and the Kilkerran evening sold out before the day. If a date suits you, booking early is the only reliable way to get a place.
Kilkerran Tour Tasting on 25 October Is Sold Out
The first evening of the season belongs to Campbeltown. Whisky expert Andrew Wallace comes from the Kilkerran distillery to host the Kilkerran Tour Tasting on Sunday 25 October at 17:00, and all 12 seats are taken.
The lineup shows why it sold quickly. Guests taste the Kilkerran 12 Years Old and the Kilkerran 16 Years Old, the Kilkerran 14 Years Old 2011 Tour Edition bottled at 55% for this tour, two cask samples (a 2020 Fino cask and a Heavily Peated 10 Years Old), and one final pour that stays a secret until the night itself.
The Yamazaki Tasting on 29 October Pours the New Limited Release 2026
On Thursday 29 October at 19:30, Daniel Schöll hosts an evening built around Suntory's new limited edition. The ticket costs €79.
The Lineup
The evening opens with a Yamazaki Distiller's Highball as a welcome drink. Then come the Yamazaki 12 Years Old, three cask samples that are not for sale anywhere, the Yamazaki Refill Spanish Oak Limited Release Edition 2026 and, to close, the Yamazaki 18 Years Old.
Why the Limited Release 2026 Matters
The new limited edition is bottled at 48% from whisky distilled in 2014 and 2015 and matured in refill Spanish oak casks. Suntory's official tasting notes describe stewed apricot compote with cloves and nutmeg on the nose, fresh cherries, dried figs and shaved cacao on the palate, and a finish of coffee and wood smoke. Our article Yamazaki Refill Spanish Oak 2026: 7 Things to Know covers the release in detail.
Distillery Background
Yamazaki, founded in 1923 near Kyoto, is Japan's oldest malt whisky distillery. Tasting its 12 and 18 Years Old next to a new limited edition and three unreleased cask samples shows how wide the house style reaches.
The Glendronach Masterclass on 27 November Marks 200 Years
On Friday 27 November at 19:30, the Glendronach Team leads a masterclass for the distillery's 200th anniversary. The ticket costs €59, and all 12 seats were still available when this article was published.
Six Expressions in One Evening
The lineup runs through the Glendronach 15 Years Old, the 18 Years Old and the 21 Years Old in its redesigned 2025 packaging, then two of the distillery's Ode releases, Ode to the Embers at 48.4% and Ode to the Dark at 50.8%.
The Boynsmill House Edition
The star of the evening is the Glendronach 14 Years Old Boynsmill House Edition, bottled at 46.8%. It was made to mark 200 years of Glendronach and pays tribute to Boynsmill House, the building that has stood at the heart of the distillery since 1826.
A Fourth Evening With Glenfarclas Is in Preparation
A fourth tasting at the shop will be dedicated to Glenfarclas, the Speyside distillery that has belonged to the Grant family since 1865 and is known for its long tradition of sherry cask maturation. The date, host, price and final lineup are not confirmed yet, and they will be published on the Spiritory tastings page first.
Until then, the Glenfarclas 190th Anniversary Limited Edition is available on Spiritory, and our Glenfarclas vs GlenDronach comparison explains how the two sherried Speyside and Highland styles differ, which makes it good preparation for both evenings.
