Description
A blend of Caribbean rums from Trinidad, Panama and Tobago. Refined for up to six months in vin cuit casks from Provence. The barrels come from Château de Saint-Martin, where grape must is slowly cooked over wood fire. The result: a rare dessert wine with notes of quince, smoke and dried stone fruits. These flavours define the character of Tartuga.
In the glass: warm gold. The nose opens with candied orange, soft toffee and toasted almond. Quince, damp oak and a whiff of smoke follow. On the palate: silky and balanced. Caramelised nuts meet stewed fruits. Then pastry – brioche, slightly buttery, with vanilla and date. Texture remains smooth, with gentle sweetness and subtle spice. The finish is long and aromatic, with hazelnut cream and dried fruit.
A 40% ABV rum that blends Mediterranean oak notes with tropical richness. Named after a turtle said to have crossed from the Caribbean to Provence. Tartuga captures that journey: slow, flavourful, enduring.
