Tormore 18 Years Old Bourbon Cask Label Appears in the US at 46.8%

Tormore 18 Years Old Bourbon Cask Label Appears in the US at 46.8%
An 18 Year Old for the New Core Range
This summer, after its takeover by Elixir Distillers, the Speyside distillery Tormore introduced a new core range made up of Tormore Timeless, the 12 Year Old and the 16 Year Old.
That trio could soon become a quartet. A label for Tormore Aged 18 Years has appeared in the database of the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), where every label for the American market has to be approved.
Bourbon Casks and Natural Colour
According to the label, the whisky was matured in select ex bourbon casks and is called simply Bourbon Cask. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV in a 700 ml bottle, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The label names Tormore Distillery in Advie, Grantown-on-Spey, as the place of distillation and maturation, and describes the distillery as the Pearl of Speyside, its white walls set into the woodland on the Cromdale Hills.
Tasting Notes From the Label
The front label describes the whisky as generous, fruity and beautifully balanced.
Nose: honeysuckle, peach and lilac bloom.
Palate: nectarine topped with soft vanilla custard, with warming cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: long and lingering, with touches of maple syrup, dried mint and clementine.
Not Yet Confirmed
A label in the TTB database does not automatically mean a release will follow, but it is a strong indication. Tormore has not yet announced a price or a release date.
The new expression is already listed on Spiritory as Tormore 18 Years Old, alongside the Tormore 12 Years Old and Tormore Timeless from the current core range.
