Maturation & Flavor Profile

Taigh showcases a refined smoke profile dubbed "Smoke with Taste," emphasizing an elegant, balanced peat character rather than overpowering peat intensity. The whisky matures primarily in first-fill bourbon casks, which impart vanilla, sweet spice, and honey notes that weave harmoniously with gentle smoke. Refill bourbon casks preserve the distillery’s pure character, while a subtle influence from Madeira casks adds softness and roundness to the texture. The result is a multi-layered single malt that balances maritime influences, subtle smoke, sweetness, spice, and structural clarity.

Design & Presentation

The bottle’s label is handcrafted by local artist Aileen Grant, inspired by the Hebrides and made in her home, reflecting the origin, craftsmanship, and heart of Torabhaig Distillery. The design embodies the concept of “Taigh”—meaning “house” or “home” in Scottish Gaelic—inviting whisky lovers to experience the welcoming spirit of Skye.
