Tomatin Distillery unveils a pioneering expression in its peated Cù Bòcan series with Tomatin Cù Bòcan Creation #8 , the first Scotch whisky aged in ice wine casks. This release stands out for combining traditional Highland peat with unexpected maturation choices, pushing the boundaries of flavour in the category of single malt Scotch whisky.
Maturation & Flavor Profile
Cù Bòcan Creation #8 is uniquely matured in casks previously holding Canadian ice wine from the Pillitteri family winery, renowned for producing sweet, tropical-flavored wines under cold-climate conditions. Complementing these are high-quality Spanish Verdejo casks from the Belondrade winery in Spain’s Rueda region, known for imparting fresh, zesty, and herbal notes. Together, these two casks craft a complex whisky with interplay between peat smoke and vibrant wine influences.
Bottled at 46% ABV, this non-chill filtered single malt retains its natural colour, allowing the nuances of its distinctive maturation to fully express themselves.
