THY Festival Presents the 4 Years Old Oloroso Bøg

The THY Festival, held each June in northern Denmark’s National Park, introduces its third festival bottling, Thy 4 Years Old Oloroso Bøg , with a fourth to follow close to the event on June 13th. This release, named Oloroso Bøg, expands on the Core Range’s Bøg expression, adding new depths to the farm distillery’s lineup.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This single malt matured for 4 years exclusively in four second-fill oloroso sherry casks. These casks impart delicate fruit notes of apple and peach, providing a bright counterpoint to the whisky’s smokiness. The barley was then kilned over birch wood using the distillery’s homemade malting drums, which lends a distinctive smoky aroma described as meaty, warming, and carrying a subtle mint nuance. Bottled at a robust cask strength of 58.1% ABV, this whisky presents a powerful and layered profile.
