The Caskhound Unveils Tilo's Messe-Marchen Whisky Trio

The Caskhound Launches "Tilo’s Messe-Märchen" Trio at WHISKY BOAT

Tilo Schnabel, known as The Caskhound, unveiled three new single malt whiskies in his "Tilo’s Messe-Märchen" series at the WHISKY BOAT event in Stralsund. This release introduces a captivating array of age statements and cask finishes, featuring an 18-year-old Glen Moray, a 16-year-old Tomatin, and a 12-year-old Tamnavulin. The debut marks an exciting moment for whisky enthusiasts who appreciate carefully crafted expressions showcasing diverse maturation styles.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Each whisky reveals a distinctive cask influence: the Glen Moray matured in a Red Wine Barrique from France’s Margaux region, the Tomatin is finished for 18 months in a second-fill sherry cask, and the Tamnavulin spent 12 years in a first-fill Fino Sherry barrel. These choices deliver complexity and refinement—dark cherry and Bordeaux tannins characterize the Glen Moray, while the Tomatin offers layers of dried apricot and nutty spice. The Tamnavulin stands out with its unusual sweet, honeyed profile countering typical Fino dryness.

A curated trio where Speyside elegance meets Highland fruitiness and rare cask expressions.
