Maturation & Flavor Profile

The whisky spent 14 years maturing in 1st fill ex-Oloroso casks from the Orkney Islands, which impart a rich sherried backbone. It then underwent a finishing period of eight months in a 1st fill ex-Marsala cask from Sicily, adding a complex fruitiness and depth. Bottled at 56.2% ABV, this single cask expression balances mystical, slightly salty island notes with the luscious sweetness and spiced nuances of Italian fortified wine casks.
