Sprithöker Becomes Exclusive German Partner of Paul John Indian Single Malt

A New Home for Paul John in Germany

Sprithöker, the spirits importer based in Ahrensburg near Hamburg, is now the exclusive partner of John Distilleries for Germany. All products of the Indian distillery are available through Sprithöker, above all the Paul John Indian single malts.

To mark the start of the partnership, Sprithöker is bringing the limited Paul John Christmas Edition 2026 to German retail.

The Whisky World Tour Reaches India

Paul John joins Sprithöker's Whisky Weltreise, or Whisky World Tour: a curated selection of whiskies from around the world, each stop with its own origin, climate and character. The portfolio already includes single malts from Scotland and whiskies from France, the USA and China. Goa now adds the tropical west coast of India.

Managing director Sven Köcher says each stop on the tour brings something of its own, and that Paul John shows impressively what single malt can achieve outside Scotland. In his words, tropical maturation in Goa produces aromas found nowhere else. The next stop is already set: Sprithöker plans to announce a new partner from Northern Ireland shortly.

Single Malt From the Tropics

John Distilleries was founded in 1996 by Paul P. John. The company has been distilling single malt whisky in Goa since 2008, and the first Paul John bottlings reached the market in 2012. The whisky is made from six row Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas.

Goa's tropical climate matures whisky considerably faster than cooler regions, giving intense, fruity and spicy malts that have received more than 300 international awards. The range covers unpeated and peated bottlings such as Nirvana, the Select Casks Classic, Peated, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez, and limited editions.

Paul John Christmas Edition 2026

This is the ninth limited Christmas Edition from Paul John. The 2026 release matured in Moscatel casks and pours a deep gold, with honey, dark chocolate and fine spices. It is bottled at 48% ABV, without chill filtration and without added colouring or flavouring.

Nose: delicate floral notes, fine butterscotch and orange blossom honey, with a hint of dry spice.

Palate: full bodied, with honeyed malt, dark chocolate, strawberry jam and crisp waffle, plus clove and a touch of nutmeg.

Finish: sweet, long and creamy, festive with tropical fruit and dry oak spice.
