Redbreast Debuts Pedro Ximenez and 27-Year Ruby Port Editions

Redbreast Debuts Pedro Ximenez and 27-Year Ruby Port Editions
Introduction & Overview
Redbreast has expanded its Irish Single Pot Still whiskey range with two new editions debuting in German specialty stores from late September: the Redbreast 27 Years Old Ruby Port Cask and the Redbreast Pedro Ximénez . These releases enhance the portfolio by deepening the brand’s connection to the Iberian Peninsula through finishes in Pedro Ximénez sherry and Ruby Port casks, reflecting Redbreast’s dedication to traditional craftsmanship and innovative maturation.
Design & Presentation
While specific packaging details have not been disclosed, these whiskeys emphasize their heritage through cask types and maturation stories prominently featured in the Iberian Series and special edition labeling. The Redbreast Pedro Ximénez joins the established Lustau Edition as a standard range expression, whereas the Redbreast 27 Years Old Ruby Port Cask positions itself as a premium cask-strength offering.
Maturation & Flavor Profile
The Redbreast Pedro Ximénez is triple-distilled and matures initially in former bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads. This smaller cask size intensifies sweet sherry influences, delivering aromas and flavors of sugar beet syrup, raisins, and orange zest. Conversely, the Redbreast 27 Years Old Ruby Port Cask is comprised entirely of distillates aged at least 27 years, matured in first-fill port casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley alongside bourbon and sherry casks. This rare combination yields a rich interplay of mango, pineapple, berries, roasted oak, and warm spices.
Release & Availability
Both new expressions will be available from the end of September at select specialty retailers and Spiritory’s platform in Germany. Pricing has not been disclosed, but the Redbreast 27 Years Old Ruby Port Cask is expected to lead the range in prestige and price, while the Redbreast Pedro Ximénez complements the standard Iberian Series offerings. No bottle counts have been announced.
