Jackton Distillery Launches Its First Single Malt Under RAER

Jackton Distillery, a family-run Lowland distillery established in 2020 on the O’Cathain Farm in South Lanarkshire, has announced its inaugural single malt release under the RAER brand. Known for Blended Scotch Whiskys, Gin, and Vodka, RAER now introduces its first single malt whisky, marking a significant milestone for the young distillery led by the Kean family. This debut release, Raer The Inaugural Release Jackton Distillery , showcases the spirit’s evolution since the very first casks were laid down in February 2020.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

The inaugural bottling matured in a selection of casks including Bourbon, Pedro-Ximénez, Amontillado, and Oloroso wood, creating a layered and complex character. Bottled at 48.7% ABV, the whisky is presented in its natural colour and is non-chill filtered, emphasizing a pure and authentic expression of Jackton’s craftsmanship. The release is a limited edition, with 6,000 individually hand-numbered bottles set for distribution.

Master Blender’s Statement

Jaynie Kean, current leader of the distillery, reflects on the release:
“Our first single malt is a huge moment for us as a family, as a team and as a young distillery. We laid down our first casks in February 2020, and since then we’ve watched, waited, tasted, learned and kept moving towards the point where we could finally share a Single Malt with RAER’s name on the bottle. This release means so much because it carries the story of everyone who’s been part of Jackton so far. It’s our first chapter in single malt, and we wanted it to feel open, human and true to the way we do things here.”

In an open development process, early samples were shared with visitors, partners, and whisky experts whose feedback helped shape the final whisky. Contributors’ names are acknowledged on the packaging, reinforcing the community spirit behind the release.

Release & Availability

Raer The Inaugural Release Jackton Distillery is available for pre-order at £68 per 700ml bottle, with shipping starting on September 4, 2026. Direct collection from the distillery is also an option. This inaugural single malt is a defining expression from a promising Lowland distillery and a collectible entry point for enthusiasts.
