Michter’s Distillery presents its 2026 Legacy Series releases with two distinguished expressions: Michter’s Shenk'S Homestead Release 2026 and Michter’s Bomberger'S Declaration Release 2026 . These whiskeys honor the rich history of Michter’s, rooted in the founding of Shenk’s Distillery in 1753, evolving through the Bomberger’s era to today’s acclaimed whiskey tradition. This year’s releases emphasize innovation within heritage, demonstrated by unique mash bills and cask selections.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Shenk’s Homestead (45.6% ABV) incorporates a slightly higher rye content and caramel malted barley, lending caramel bread pudding notes to balance its spice. Its maturation features a blend of 24-month air-dried French oak from the Vosges alongside 60-month air-dried American oak, producing a distinctive character.

Bomberger’s Declaration (54% ABV) continues its signature profile with Chinquapin oak barrels, now complemented by Hungarian oak barrels. Both wood types are naturally seasoned and air-dried for three years with specialized toasting and charring. This combination enriches the bourbon with complex layers of chocolate, cherry, and spice.
