Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2026: The Fourth Edition at 71 PPM
The fourth edition
The GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside has released the Meikle Tòir 5 Years Old The Turbo 2026 Edition, the fourth edition of its annual limited series. The Turbo belongs to Meikle Tòir, the distillery's range of peated single malts led by Master Distiller Billy Walker.
Its predecessors are listed on Spiritory as the Meikle Tòir 5 Years Old The Turbo 2025 Edition and the Meikle Tòir 5 Years Old The Turbo 2024 Edition.
The heart of the heart
The smoky character comes from the heart of the heart of the distillate, the cut with the highest phenol content. This takes the whisky to 71 PPM.
It matured for five years in American virgin oak, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It is bottled at 50% ABV, without chill filtration and with no colour added.
The tasting notes
Nose: Warmed honey, candied hazelnuts and molasses meet crystallised ginger and mocha.
Palate: Butterscotch, orange zest and crystallised ginger come first, followed by honeycomb, plum syrup and candied hazelnuts.
Finish: Dried red berries, cinnamon and salted caramel remain.
Price and availability
The recommended retail price is around €76 (£62.99). Bottles are offered through a ballot at meikletoir.com, and the whisky also reaches selected specialist retailers from 5 November.
Billy Walker describes The Turbo as limited by nature, and the distillery does not give a bottle count. On Spiritory the whisky is listed as the Meikle Tòir 5 Years Old The Turbo 2026 Edition.
