At Whisky Spring Schwetzingen, McNeill’s Choice presents two distinctive whiskies that explore unconventional maturation styles. The unpeated blended malt McNeill's Choice Coopermeister finishes in subtle Jägermeister herbal liqueur casks, while the heavily peated northern Islay single malt McNeill's Choice 11 Years Old Limoncunnah is matured in Limoncello casks, demonstrating innovative flavor pairings for adventurous whisky drinkers.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

The McNeill's Choice Coopermeister blended malt, bottled at 50.1% ABV, benefits from a high proportion of sherry cask maturation which complements the delicate influence of the herbal liqueur casks. This combination results in a smooth and creamy character without overpowering herbal notes.

Conversely, the McNeill's Choice 11 Years Old Limoncunnah single malt carries a robust 50.4% ABV and has been aged for 11 years. The Limoncello casks were initially filled with liqueur made from freshly imported Italian lemons by Foraci’s, now having undergone three fillings to moderate the intense lemon character. The peat smoke directly confronts the bright citrus influence, producing a bold and complex whisky.
