Majestic pleasure: Laphroaig unveils the limited edition 'Strong Characters'
Laphroaig unveils the new limited edition series “Strong Characters”, a tribute to the powerful personalities who have shaped this iconic Islay distillery.
The focus is on the first chapter: “Laphroaig Strong Characters Chapter One Donald Johnston”, a majestic 33-year-old whisky that captivates enthusiasts and collectors alike.
From October 8, 2024, you will be able to purchase this rare masterpiece – or even win a bottle of it. The official Laphroaig press release promises an extraordinary experience: with its deep, mature character and famous peaty note, this whisky combines the essence of tradition and craftsmanship.
What does this Scotch have to offer?
Nose: sweet vanilla crème brûlée, rhubarb, apple and soft caramel, accompanied by heather honey and a sea breeze.
Palate: gentle sherry notes with fruit cake and fine spices.
Finish: Spicy peat with aromas of smoked ham, mackerel and grassy smoke.
A splash of water intensifies the peat smoke. With an alcohol content of 43.8% and a recommended retail price of €1,000, this whisky is a real treasure that won't be available for long.
