London Distillery Company Launches Innovative "New Forms" Series

The London Distillery Company, established in 2011 and revived in early 2025, introduces an ambitious new bottling series titled New Forms. This release features three single malt, single cask whiskies finished in cask types never before used by the distillery: ex-Bourbon, Fino Sherry, and Moscatel Sherry. The trio explores the versatility of the distillery’s barley-forward spirit, pushing its character in fresh, unexpected directions while maintaining its core identity.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Each whisky in the series has been finished in first-fill casks selected to highlight distinct maturation impacts. The ex-Bourbon cask imparts rich vanilla and tropical juice notes with a 12-month finish. The Fino Sherry cask lends saline precision and bright citrus with an 8-month finish. Finally, the Moscatel Sherry cask introduces sweetness and richness drawn from its eight-month maturation, emphasizing caramelized orange peel and brown butter nuances. All expressions are bottled at natural cask strength with no chill filtration or added color.

• Nose: Honey on buttered toast, ripe banana, sweet lemon zest, tropical fruit, vanilla blossoms, and red peppercorns.
• Palate: Buttery caramel, toasted oak, cinnamon spice, bitter lemon zest, and rich char.
• Finish: Oak and char linger with melted butter on toast, fresh banana, and tart green apple.

London Distillery Company New Forms Fino Sherry Cask Cask Nr.9001
• Nose: Candied lemon peel, golden plum, ripe nectarine, peach blossom, rose petals, toasted porridge, and baking spices.
• Palate: Bright citrus peel, tropical juice, white pepper, clove, ground coffee, toasted oak, and saline hints.
• Finish: Well-browned peach loaf, stone fruit, citrus oil, dusty oak, and baking spices.

• Nose: Caramelised orange peel, tart lemon, brown butter poached peaches, cooked apples with icing sugar, and dusty oak.
• Palate: Oily brown butter, bright citrus, tart peach and nectarine, orange blossom, burnt toffee, cinnamon, and ginger spice.
• Finish: Nutty toasted oak with almond and walnut skin, bitter citrus peel, warming spices, and poached nectarine.

Master Blender's Statement

Managing Director and Whisky Maker Matt McKay describes the series as their "most creatively exciting project" since the company’s revival. He highlights the spirit's adaptability to different casks, unlocking new textures and complexities while preserving the distillery's unmistakable DNA. McKay emphasizes the tension between familiarity and transformation at the core of New Forms.

The three expressions launch simultaneously on 12 June 2026, priced at £75 per bottle or £200 for the complete three-bottle collection.
• London Distillery Company New Forms Ex-Bourbon Cask Cask Nr.11190 is limited to 222 bottles, bottled at 60.7% ABV, matured for 12 years with a 12-month ex-bourbon finish.
• London Distillery Company New Forms Fino Sherry Cask Cask Nr.9001 has 347 bottles, bottled at 61.4% ABV, matured for 8 years plus 8 months in Fino Sherry.
• London Distillery Company New Forms Moscatel Sherry Cask Cask Nr.9008 offers 345 bottles, bottled at 61.6% ABV, matured 8 years with an 8-month Moscatel finish.
