Lochlea Distillery, an independent, Single Estate, family-run operation in Ayrshire, Scotland, unveils its oldest release to date with the Lochlea 7 Years Old 2018 . This 7-year-old single malt, distilled in 2018 and bottled at 50% ABV, marks a milestone in the distillery’s evolution. Matured exclusively in seven carefully hand-selected first-fill bourbon casks, this limited edition embodies Lochlea's focus on provenance and quality, delivering a richer and more expressive whisky while maintaining the signature fruit character.

Design & Presentation

The release embraces natural character by being non-chill filtered and bottled at natural colour. It reflects the distillery’s dedication to preserving the authenticity of its single estate spirit, presented in a 70cl bottle designed for whisky enthusiasts who appreciate craft and finesse.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

The whisky’s maturation in seven distinct first-fill bourbon casks contributes complex layers ranging from tropical fruit and peaches to vanilla custard and creamy cereal notes. The casks’ individual nuances—pineapple tarts, fruity creaminess, juicy tropical fruits, and baked pastry aromas—are expertly married to create a beautifully balanced and indulgent profile.

The Lochlea 7 Years Old 2018 will be available from 23rd January 2026 with an RRP of £90 per 70cl bottle. Distributed in Germany via Kirsch Import and stocked by whisky specialists internationally, this release is a testament to Lochlea’s commitment to quality and patient maturation.
