Living Souls Unveils Six New Small Batch Masterpieces

The independent bottler Living Souls, founded by Calum Leslie, John Torrance, and Jamie Williamson in Glasgow, introduces six new releases that showcase a rich spectrum of Scottish whisky styles. This eclectic selection spans Islay, Speyside, the Highlands, and Lowland grain, emphasizing diversity and craftsmanship. Among the new arrivals is the notable Bowmore 22 Years Old Living Souls , a refined older Bowmore expression.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Three Islay malts headline the collection, including the Bowmore 7 Years Old Livings Souls Batch Nr.2 , a 7-year-old matured in refill bourbon barrels and bottled at a robust 55% ABV. It carries a maritime character with citrus, vanilla, salty caramel, honey, and campfire aromas. The 22-year-old Bowmore, Bowmore 22 Years Old Living Souls , aged exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels at 52% ABV, offers a sweet, fruity bouquet reminiscent of seaside ice cream parlors with banana and vanilla nuances, subtle salt, and gentle smoke.

The third Islay is Laphroaig 11 Years Old Living Souls , an 11-year-old matured in refill bourbon barrels and bottled at 50% ABV. This Laphroaig is a classical presentation with notes of fresh bread, peat, medicinal iodine, lemon, and herbs.

From Speyside comes the Craigellachie 12 Years Old Living Souls , a 12-year-old finished in first-fill sherry hogsheads and bottled at 46% ABV. It blends pastry sweetness, caramelized sugar, and fruity apple compote with a hint of lemon cake for a full-bodied profile.

Highlands' representation is the Tullibardine 11 Years Old Living Souls , matured in French red wine casks for 11 years and bottled at 48%. This whisky presents ripe fruit and spice, cherry, strawberry, toffee, and maple syrup — a dessert malt worthy of attention.

The Lowland grain category features the North British 17 Years Old Living Souls , a 17-year-old from North British Distillery matured in red wine hogsheads at 48%. It evokes an autumnal orchard with sticky toffee pudding, dried fruit, and cinnamon, offering a robust, elegant drinking experience.

All six b ottlings are non-chill-filtered and bottled in natural color. Their labels feature artistic illustrations that capture the settings where each whisky shines best.

Living Souls continues to impress with thoughtfully curated cask selections and authentic expressions.
