Independent Scotch whisky producer Little Brown Dog has unveiled the first release of its permanent range: the Glen Garioch 12 Years Old Little Brown Dog . Founded in 2018 by Andrew Smith and Chris Reid, the company previously operated as an independent bottler and now introduces a regularly available Highland single malt. This release marks a significant step, showcasing a collaboration with the nearby Glen Garioch Distillery, just ten minutes from Little Brown Dog’s base.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

The 12-year-old single malt is unpeated and matured in a blend of 60% first-fill bourbon barrels and 40% Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, with natural color and without chill filtration, preserving its authentic character. The combination of bourbon and sherry influence promises a nuanced complexity balancing vanilla sweetness with rich dried fruit notes.

Release & Availability

Around 2,000 hand-numbered bottles of Glen Garioch 12 Years Old Little Brown Dog have been produced. This initial batch is now available through Spiritory, where whisky collectors and enthusiasts can secure a bottle from this sought-after permanent series. Batch Two and Three are already in development, ensuring continued interest from whisky aficionados.
