The whisky spent 10 years exclusively in 100% Oloroso Sherry Butts sourced from Bodega José y Miguel Martín, renowned for their high-quality sherry barrels. The maturation benefits from a balance of Spanish and French oak, creating casks perfectly suited to enhance Kilchoman’s spirit. The influence of first-fill sherry casks imparts a juicy-sweet intensity, dominated by dried fruits, dark chocolate, and rich spices, elegantly fused with citrus and smoky peat character.

“For me, sherry matured Kilchoman at 10 years old is close to its peak. The oloroso influence is impactful but not overwhelming, with a balance of sherry-soaked peat, roasted ham, nutmeg, orange peel, and sweet spices.”
