Kilchoman Unveils the Family Collection 1st Edition

Following the well received Kilchoman Anniversary Casks that marked the distillery's 20th anniversary, Kilchoman has introduced a new strictly limited series: the Family Collection, a set of rare age statements drawn from the oldest stocks the farm distillery has ever held, personally curated by the founding Wills family. The first edition, billed as the Rare Collection 2026, comprises four expressions aged 11, 14, 18 and 20 years old, with Kilchoman 20 Years Old standing as the oldest release the distillery has produced to date.

A Collection Curated by the Founding Family

Each expression was selected individually by the five members of the Wills family, reflecting their personal tastes, shared passion and the developing character of Kilchoman. The four releases are drawn from a curated composition of rare single casks, tracing the distillery's growing use of ex bourbon and ex sherry wood as its whiskies reach longer maturation times and higher ages. Kilchoman sits between Islay's wide sandy beaches and rugged coastline at Rockside Farm, the only distillery on the island that grows, malts, distills, matures and bottles entirely on site.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Three of the four expressions, the 11, 18 and 20 Years Old, are distilled from Kilchoman's characteristic heavily peated barley (50ppm) sourced from Islay's Port Ellen Maltings. The 14 Years Old breaks from that pattern: distilled in 2011 from Rockside Barley grown on the farm and malted on site, peated to a lighter 20ppm. The 11 Years Old completed its full maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, while the 14, 18 and 20 Years Old are matured in ex bourbon wood.

The Four Expressions

• Kilchoman 11 Years Old: Oloroso sherry cask maturation, bottled at 54.7% ABV, the highest strength in the series.
• Kilchoman 14 Years Old Rockside Barley: Ex bourbon casks, distilled 2011 from estate grown and malted barley peated to 20ppm, bottled at 50.9% ABV.
• Kilchoman 18 Years Old: Ex bourbon casks, bottled at 50% ABV.
• Kilchoman 20 Years Old: Ex bourbon casks, bottled at 49.9% ABV, the oldest general release Kilchoman has produced to date.

Design & Presentation

Each expression arrives in a premium gift box finished in Kilchoman's signature blue, giving the Family Collection a timeless presentation. The packaging carries gold foil linework tracing the outline of the distillery's pagoda kiln alongside a cut out window revealing a photograph of the Wills family, while the 14 Years Old carries a cream label to set it apart from the navy labels of the other three.

Release & Availability

All four expressions are bottled at 700ml, non chill filtered with no colour added.
