Johnnie Walker Vault Becomes the Brand's First Permanent Prestige Whisky

A Blend From Beneath Edinburgh

Johnnie Walker has launched Johnnie Walker Vault, the first permanent prestige whisky in its range. It takes its name from a creative atelier hidden deep beneath the streets of Edinburgh, at The Johnnie Walker Experience.

The Vault holds around 500 whiskies from Diageo's rare and ghost stocks at any time, curated and rotated by Master Blender Dr Emma Walker, who draws on more than 10 million casks.

Old and New Brora

The blend layers legendary single malts from ghost distilleries with contemporary malts. At its heart is a highly aged Brora, casked before the distillery closed in 1983, combined with the first ever use of younger Brora from casks filled after the distillery's revival.

Dr Emma Walker calls it "a hand-selected blend of our extraordinary whiskies from across Scotland", a country she describes as "a truly special country to which I hold a deep connection."

Official Tasting Notes

Nose: butterscotch and salted caramel, then wildflowers, green hills and fragrant barley, developing into toasted oak and a whisper of driftwood bonfire.

Palate: vanilla, chopped almonds, frangipane tart and Scottish raspberries, building to tropical fruit, subtle incense and charred oak, then malty sweetness, vintage leather and tobacco.

Finish: structured, with apricot, sweet raspberry and a hint of crème anglaise balanced by gentle warming spice.

Price and Availability

Johnnie Walker Vault has a recommended retail price of £1,100 and is available exclusively at Harrods in London, The Johnnie Walker Experience in Edinburgh and online at justerinis.com.

It is listed on Spiritory as Johnnie Walker Vault.
