Jack Daniel's Returns to Coy Hill With a 10 Year Old Single Barrel Rye

Jack Daniel's Returns to Coy Hill With a 10 Year Old Single Barrel Rye
A New Single Barrel Special Release
Jack Daniel's has added Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill Rye to its limited Single Barrel Special Release series. It is a single barrel Tennessee rye made from the distillery's signature rye mash bill of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley.
Like all Jack Daniel's whiskey, the spirit was charcoal mellowed before it went into charred American white oak barrels, where it then matured for 10 years.
Matured at the Top of Coy Hill
The barrels were chosen from Barrelhouses 1 to 13 on Coy Hill, the highest elevation at the distillery. The pronounced seasonal temperature swings up there push the whiskey deeper into the wood and are credited with the complex character of the release.
It follows the 2025 Tanyard Hill Rye and continues a line of high elevation releases that includes this year's Small Batch Rye, the 2024 Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 Tennessee Whiskey, the 2022 Small Batch Coy Hill High Proof and the 2021 Coy Hill High Proof, which set the record for the highest proofs Jack Daniel's has ever released.
Every Barrel at Its Own Strength
Because each bottle comes from a single barrel and is bottled at barrel strength, the strength varies from 64.35% to 74.25% ABV, so no two barrels are quite alike.
Master Distiller Chris Fletcher said: "The annual Special Release series has allowed us to push the boundaries of our whiskey-making craft, and our previous Coy Hill releases have been among our most acclaimed. We are thrilled to return to Coy Hill and showcase our Tennessee Rye Whiskey while taking full advantage of the unique maturation environment and over ten years in the barrel to yield a bold, complex whiskey we are incredibly proud to share."
Tasting Notes
