Whic 10 Years Old Ragnarøkkr Hrímþursar is the eleventh release in whic's Ragnarøkkr series, a line of peated whiskies inspired by Norse mythology. This 10-year-old Islay Single Malt reflects the balance of intense peat smoke and sweet fruit character, embodying the Frost Giants’ spirit for which it is named.

Design & Presentation

The bottle carries an artistically illustrated label featuring a detailed pencil drawing of an ancient Frost Giant emerging from the eternal ice of Jötunheim. Embossing and silver elements enrich the presentation, emphasizing the mythical theme consistent throughout the Ragnarøkkr series.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This Single Malt matured for a decade on Islay before finishing in Moscatel barriques. The influence of the Moscatel cask adds a layer of sweetness to the otherwise robust peaty character. Bottled at cask strength of 52.5% ABV, the whisky is non-chill-filtered and free from added color, preserving a natural mahogany hue and smooth texture.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Campfire smoke, smoked bacon, hints of grilled pineapple, mirabelle plums, strawberries with white chocolate, tropical fruits, and a salty sea breeze
• Palate: Vanilla cream, oily smoke, white pepper, fruity chili, citrus, salted caramel, and fine ash, creating a complex interplay of sweet and dry flavors
• Finish: Long and slightly dry with creamy peat smoke, milk chocolate, and touches of spicy cinnamon pastries
