The Glenturret Unveils Nocturne, a Limited 14 Year Old

From Day to Night

The Glenturret distillery in Crieff, Perthshire, which calls itself Scotland's oldest working distillery, has released the Glenturret 14 Years Old Nocturne Limited Edition. The single malt was created by the distillery's whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno.

Nocturne is inspired by the transition from day to night. The distillery describes it as a quieter, more contemplative expression, built on nuance and the complexity that emerges over time.

Sherry Casks and a Thread of Smoke

The whisky matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry seasoned casks, which give it its depth of dark fruit, treacle and warming spice.

A delicate thread of peat smoke runs through it, used for structure rather than as the headline. It sits alongside the distillery's other 14 year old, the Glenturret 14 Years Old Peat Smoked 2025 Release, and the sherried Glenturret Sherry Cask Edition.

Official Tasting Notes

A richness of dried fruit sets the tone and unfolds into baked sweetness and quiet warmth. A subtle thread of peat smoke guides the spirit, while layers of oak build slowly beneath, lifted by dark sweetness and gentle spice. The finish is long and composed.

Availability

The Glenturret Nocturne 14 Years Old is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70 cl bottle and limited to 1,700 bottles. It is available now from the distillery website and selected specialist retailers at a recommended price of around €179 (£150), and the distillery webshop also delivers to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
