Highland distillery Glenglassaugh expands its lineup with the new Glenglassaugh 15 Years Old , joining Portsoy, Sandend, and Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old in the core portfolio. Bottled at 46% ABV, this release highlights the distillery’s coastal heritage and adds an elegant 15-year-old expression crafted for both collectors and newcomers.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

The maturation involves a thoughtful layering of Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Spanish wine casks, contributing to a rich and indulgent depth. This complex cask blend brings out coastal influences and elevates the whisky’s flavor profile with notes reminiscent of the distillery’s seaside surroundings.

Rachel Barrie, Glenglassaugh’s Master Blender, reflects on the inspiration behind this release: “The 15 Years Old is a magnificent natural evolution, showing how our coastal location shapes the lush Glenglassaugh spirit over time. Creating this expression, I was inspired by time spent on the beach at Sandend Bay, while the sun sets over the North Sea. I’ve layered Pedro Ximénez Sherry and Spanish wine casks to give breathtaking and indulgent depth of flavour. Every sip offers the signature coastal character of Glenglassaugh, enveloped in a luxurious date, orange papaya, and chocolate elixir.”
