The Speyside distillery The GlenAllachie has unveiled the third release in its Sinteis Series— GlenAllachie 11 Years Old 2014 Sintesis Part III . This limited-edition single malt, matured for 11 years, continues the innovative dual-cask exploration with a robust cask strength of 57.4% ABV, marking a significant evolution in the series that blends tradition and bold maturation techniques.

Design & Presentation

The bottle is presented with premium packaging designed by Scottish artist Kayley Barbour. It features a hand-drawn motif inspired by French virgin oak, incorporating detailed branches and roots accented by light red foil for warmth and subtle richness. A bespoke box with a wood grain texture pays homage to the central role of oak in this release.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This expression matured in a combination of French Limousin virgin oak and Oloroso sherry casks, each fully matured over 11 years. The French oak casks are medium charred and toasted, air-dried for 15 months, imparting notes of honey, orange peel, gentle spice, and subtle earthiness. The Oloroso sherry casks contribute dried fruit, dark chocolate, and gentle spice. Together, these create a harmonious, complex whisky where sweetness, depth, and structure interlace.

“We’re very proud to present the third edition of The Sinteis Series. Our Sinteis range sits at the heart of our maturation programme and allows us to reimagine the familiar, exploring how different kinds of virgin oak, paired with the familiarity of sherry casks can unlock extraordinary depth and character. Following two successful previous releases, there was naturally a bit of pressure with this one. As a team we decided that French Limousin virgin oak was the perfect choice. Its beautifully distinct character harmonises exceptionally with the oloroso sherry profile that we know and love, resulting in a herbaceous, fruit-filled dram that evolves with every sip.”

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Orange zest, nutmeg, dried orchard fruits, honeycomb, maraschino cherries, mocha, and crystallised brown sugar
• Palate: Heather honey, spiced orange, baked apple, with winter truffle, muscovado sugar, cinnamon, hazelnuts, and mocha on the finish
• Color: Burnished mahogany
