Glen Scotia 12-Year-Old Single Malt Joins Core Range

The historic Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has introduced its latest expression: the Glen Scotia 12-Year-Old Single Malt, priced at £45 in the UK. This whisky marks the beginning of a refreshed brand identity and will serve as the heart of the distillery’s Core Range, joining the established 10, 15, 18, and 25-year-old bottlings. Crafted to highlight the distillery’s maritime influence and rich coastal style, the new release is already drawing attention as a defining expression of Glen Scotia.

A Bold New Look

Presented in a striking design of royal blue and chalk white, the packaging takes inspiration from the walls and entrance of Glen Scotia’s traditional dunnage warehouse. According to Kevin Wood, Global Brand Manager, the refreshed identity represents the dawn of a new chapter:

“The launch of the new 12-year-old and our refreshed brand identity marks an exciting new chapter for Glen Scotia. The new 12-year-old is quintessentially Glen Scotia – from the royal blue and chalk white packaging referencing our dunnage door and exterior wall, to the bold Campbeltown character within, bursting with tropical fruit flavours perfectly balanced with our maritime influence.”

Maturation and Distillery Vision

The Glen Scotia 12-Year-Old has been fully matured in first-fill Bourbon casks, resulting in a layered profile that balances sweetness, oak, and coastal vibrancy. Distillery Manager Iain McAlister emphasized the importance of this release:

“This expression perfectly captures our signature style and embodies the ethos of Glen Scotia – a small, passionate team honouring traditional methods to create bold, distinctive flavours that we’re proud to share with the world.”

Bottled at 46% ABV, the whisky reflects both authenticity and intensity, ensuring it will appeal to enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Tasting Notes Glen Scotia 12-Year-Old

Conclusion

The new Glen Scotia 12-Year-Old is more than just a Core Range addition—it is a statement of identity. With its bold Campbeltown style, maritime influence, and refreshed packaging, this release underscores Glen Scotia’s role as one of Scotland’s most distinctive distilleries. While priced at £45 in the UK, local availability and pricing will follow soon, with updates expected from importer HaWe Bremen. This expression sets the tone for Glen Scotia’s exciting future.
