Duncan Taylor adds a novel dimension to its Octave series with the introduction of a Mizunara oak cask finish. This new release features the Auchentoshan 14 Years Old The Octave Duncan Taylor , a 14-year-old single malt Auchentoshan that underwent a secondary maturation in a small Mizunara Octave cask, marking the first use of this Japanese oak variety within the Octave range.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Initially matured for 14 years, the whisky spent a few months in the Mizunara Octave cask, which yields roughly 80 bottles per cask and is known for imparting intense finishing characteristics. This finish significantly alters the whisky’s flavor profile, evolving from gentle vanilla yogurt and honey-ginger notes with citrus and mild spice, to richer aromas and tastes including rice pudding, golden syrup, mandarin, cedarwood, and warm ginger.
