Open represents the sixth edition of DEWAR’S distinguished Champions Edition series, crafted to mark the 126th U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. This 19-year-old blended Scotch whisky is a rare example of refined Scottish craftsmanship, honoring the enduring connection between the game of golf and Scotch whisky.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This expression is a blend of up to 40 of Scotland’s finest single malt and grain whiskies, matured for 19 years in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Before bottling, it is harmonized in refill oak casks and then finished in Cabernet Franc red wine barrels from Wölffer Estate in Southampton, New York. This trans-Atlantic finishing imparts elegant floral notes, complemented by red berries, blackcurrant, cinnamon, and dried orange peel, culminating in a long, balanced finish with toasted oak and refined sweetness.

Master Blender’s Statement

Stephanie Macleod, six-time Master Blender of the Year for DEWAR’S, explains: “There is a natural synergy between whisky and wine; both are shaped by time, place and oak cask. For this year’s Champions Edition, we used Cabernet Franc casks sourced from a renowned Southampton, NY winery to finish Dewar’s 19. The Cabernet Franc casks bring beautiful layers of red fruit, floral character and gentle spice, resulting in a whisky that feels both distinctive and unmistakably DEWAR’S.”

Dewar's 19 Years Old The Champions Edition 126th U.s. Open is bottled at 40% ABV and available in a 700ml bottle. It is priced at 8000 JPY RRP and offered in limited quantities. This edition continues DEWAR’S tradition of blending innovation and heritage, available exclusively through Spiritory.

The release also coincides with the promotion of the DEWAR’S Lemon Wedge cocktail, an approachable serve made with DEWAR’S 12 Year Old, lemonade, and club soda, reflecting a contemporary way to enjoy Scotch whisky.
