Celtic Whisky Distillerie: Coastal Craftsmanship in the 13th Edition of Glann Ar Mor

Situated on the rugged Breton coast, Celtic Whisky Distillerie stands as a pioneer of French single malt whisky, emphasizing quality over quantity since 1997. Their Celtic Whisky Distillery 10 Years Old 2014 The Glann Ar Mor 2014/2025 - 13th Edition Kirsch Journal marks the 13th edition in the “Journal des Kirsch” series and represents a significant milestone as the first French whisky curated in this collection of French specialties.

The distillery’s hallmark approach involves a directly-fired spirit still with a modest 650-liter capacity and an unusually slow, two-stage repasse distillation. This process prioritizes sensory precision, with cuts made strictly by nose and experience, enhanced by an open flame heating method which imparts additional depth and a waxy texture. Fermentation unfolds over approximately 130 hours in Oregon pine wooden fermenters, fostering complex fruit and ester aromas that form the foundation of the final spirit.

Matured for ten years in a fresh American oak cask, this unpeated Glann Ar Mor was aged under the influence of wind and sea. The maritime environment lends a distinctive character with notes of ripe apricot, salted caramel, almonds, vanilla, and a subtle salty minerality. At cask strength 55.3% ABV, the whisky is non-chill filtered and non-colored, bottled in a strictly limited run of 244 bottles.
