Atom Brands Launches Wormtub Single Cask Series Celebrating Unique Condenser Influence

Atom Brands, known for That Boutique-y Whisky Company, introduces the Wormtub Single Cask Series—a collection highlighting Scotland's remaining 20 distilleries still using Worm Tub Condensers. This traditional copper coil setup, often housed in a water bath, is prized for producing denser, heavier whisky styles. The inaugural lineup includes five single cask expressions: Knockdhu 10 Years Old Wormtub , Glen Elgin 11 Years Old Wormtub , Mortlach 12 Years Old Wormtub , Craigellachie 13 Years Old Wormtub , and Balmenach 24 Years Old Wormtub .

All five bottlings are matured exclusively in sherry casks—predominantly Pedro Ximénez—with the exception of Balmenach 24 Years Old Wormtub , which rests in an Oloroso butt. Bottled at cask strength, these whiskies range from ultra-limited editions of 93 bottles, such as Craigellachie 13 Years Old Wormtub and Knockdhu 10 Years Old Wormtub , to a larger run of 386 bottles for Glen Elgin 11 Years Old Wormtub .

These robust single malts from the Wormtub Single Cask Series are available through Spiritory, with prices generally around €80 per bottle, ranging from €50 to €200. Collectors can also explore a sample set featuring all five releases for €45. Standout bottlings include the richly aged Balmenach 24 Years Old Wormtub and the cask-strength Craigellachie 13 Years Old Wormtub , both showcasing the depth attainable through this traditional condensation method.
