Maturation & Flavor Profile

Distilled in 2008 and matured full-term in a first fill French Oak hogshead (Quercus Robur), this Ardbeg offers a unique marriage of robust smoky character and nuanced wood influence. The French oak imparts dry tannins and aromatic wood smoke, enhanced by notes of damp earth. Complementary flavors of baked apple and raisin bread weave into the complex profile, with a palate featuring chicory coffee and a spicy pepper kick. The finish reveals lingering dark chocolate and spices, delivering a long and satisfying conclusion—all at a powerful 54% ABV cask strength.
