The fesslermill1396 Distillery, housed in the historic Fessler Mill near Sersheim in Germany’s serene Metter Valley, celebrates its 630th anniversary with a distinctive release. Fessler Mühle 7 Years Old 630 Years Anniversary Edition No. 2 is the second installment in a four-part special series, blending local tradition with the smoky soul of Islay.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

This seven-year-old single rye whisky is crafted from regionally grown rye grain, milled using a historic roller mill dating back to 1870. Maturation occurred exclusively in three handpicked ex-Islay casks from renowned distilleries including Laphroaig and Bunnahabhain. This triple ex-Islay cask aging imparts subtle yet distinct smoky notes reminiscent of Scotland’s iconic island, masterfully integrated with the grain’s natural character. The spirit is bottled at 45.0% ABV, diluted with local spring water to highlight its refined profile.

The packaging reflects the anniversary’s stature with a noble label featuring embossed printing, visually complementing the whisky’s heritage and quality.

This limited edition is confined to just 630 bottles and is set to debut in time for German Mill Day on May 25, 2026.
