The Edition Series
The Macallan Edition No. 1, 48,1% Vol.
The Macallan Edition No. 1 is the debut expression in the Edition Series. It celebrates The Macallan’s unparalleled oak cask management policy that oversees the entire process from wood sourcing to finished, seasoned cask. Showcasing the influence of The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks in the flavour of the whisky, the result is a bold single malt drawn from eight of the finest European and American oak cask styles and sizes.
The Macallan Edition No. 2, 48,2% Vol.
The distinctive and dynamic character of Edition No. 2 has been shaped not only by the use of seven exceptional oak cask types from four different bodegas but by the creative spirit of each of the four collaborators; combining flavours to reflect each of their distinctive personalities in the resulting whisky.
The Macallan Edition No. 3, 48,3% Vol.
The third Edition is drawn from a combination of European and American oak casks and has a sweet and fruity character, balancing the heavier base recognisable in our single malt whiskies with citrus, vanilla, florals and fresh cut oak.
The Macallan Edition No. 4, 48,4% Vol.
The fourth release in this innovative annual Series, Edition No.4 embodies the craftsmanship and pioneering design of the new Macallan Distillery and demonstrates the mastery of whisky making since 1824 as it continues to explore our approach to whisky making, showcasing the skills of our whisky makers and revealing the specific role of oak casks in the creation of the Macallan.
With each cask bringing different dimensions and imparting its own influence, this single malt delivers surprising aromas and character. Crafted from a combination of European and American oak casks, Edition No.4 presents a zesty, vibrant and invigorating single malt of rounded honey, sweet toffee and citrus fruits.
The Macallan Edition No. 5, 48,5% Vol.
The Macallan Edition No. 5 is the distillery’s very own homage to the diversity and complexity of natural colour. Inspired by a coming together of whisky making mastery and colour expertise and insight, this single malt celebrates both The Macallan’s commitment to natural colour and the intricate whisky making process. This whisky represents the collaboration with prestigious cooperages from Spain. In addition to maturing in first-fill bourbon barrels and refill hogsheads, the whisky was partly matured in Sherry seasoned European oak casks from the Tevasa Cooperage, Vasyma Cooperage and Hudosa Cooperage.
The Macallan Edition No. 6, 48,6% Vol.
The sixth and final release in the The Macallan Edition series, Edition No. 6 takes its inspiration from the natural wonders of the legendary River Spey and The Macallan Estate, where each and every cask of The Macallan is matured before being hand-selected for use by our expert whisky makers. All of the five distinct casks types used to create Edition No. 6 have been hand-picked by The Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner. He drew inspiration from unique stories related to the river and surrounding landscape.
The American and European oak casks have been selected to create a flavour profile that will deliver a multifaceted experience; from the appealing rich brass natural colour, to the layers of aroma, followed by the deep and rewarding flavour.
Triple Cask Matured Collection
12 Years Old The Macallan Tripple Cask Matured, 40% Vol.
The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 12 years old is created from a trinity of spirits, matured individually in European sherry seasoned oak casks, American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks. Once filled, the maturing spirit remains undisturbed in the same casks for 12 years - after which this complex combination of casks is exquisitely and expertly married together to create this vibrant single malt.
15 Years Old The Macallan Tripple Cask Matured, 43% Vol.
The uniquely complex combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks, sherry seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon American oak casks, delivers the extraordinarily smooth and delicate character of this 15 year old single malt. A lighter style Macallan with a more complex character, the exquisite and expert marriage of this trinity of spirits delivers a sublime whisky with a natural rich straw colour and decadent flavours of orange and chocolate.
Triple Cask Matured 15 Years Old was previously known as Fine Oak 15 Years Old and offers the same extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex character with a new name, new bottle and bold new packaging.
18 Years Old The Macallan Tripple Cask Matured, 43% Vol.
Crafted from a combination of European sherry seasoned oak casks, American sherry seasoned oak casks and American ex-bourbon oak casks, our Triple Cask Matured 18 Years Old showcases and exemplifies the vibrant union of three spirits. Characterised by the smooth, delicate and complex character of the entire range, eighteen years of maturation gives this expression the greatest depth of flavour with richness of orange, velvety cocoa and wood spice a natural light amber colour.
Triple Cask Matured 18 Years Old was previously known as Fine Oak 18 Years Old and offers the same extraordinarily smooth, delicate yet complex character with a new name, new bottle and bold new packaging.
Fine Oak Collection
The Macallan 10 Years Old Fine Oak, 40% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 10 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of ten years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers a light whisky with notes of honey and fruit.
The Macallan 12 Years Old Fine Oak, 40% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 12 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of twelve years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers a smooth whisky with notes of dried fruit, honey and subtle spice.
The Macallan 15 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 15 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of fifteen years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers a rich flavour profile with notes of chocolate, dried fruits and cinnamon.
The Macallan 17 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 17 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of seventeen years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers a flavour profile of exotic notes including tropical fruits, jasmine and citrus.
The Macallan 18 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 18 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of eighteen years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers tropical flavours balanced with wood smoke.
The Macallan 21 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak range 21 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of twenty one years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers an intense and rich flavour profile with notes of vanilla and spice.
The Macallan 25 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 25 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of twenty five years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers a robust favour profile with notes of vanilla, peach and sherry.
The Macallan 30 Years Old Fine Oak, 43% Vol.
The Macallan Fine Oak 30 Years Old is the pinnacle expression of the Fine Oak range and is matured in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks exudes complexity and smoothness in an incomparable way, with notes of sandalwood, vanilla and black cherry.
The Macallan Archives
Several other collections are listed in the ‘Macallan Archives’. These include the Exceptional Single Cask Collection, which was discontinued in 2017 , and the Anecdotes of Ages Collection, which consists of 13 bottles that always contain the same single malt Scotch whisky but have different artistically designed labels. Another collection in the archives is the **‘Golden Age of Travel Series’. **
Since this exclusive selection of whiskies only available to travellers in selected airports around the world. Same goes for the “1824 Collection”. The “1824 Series” celebrates The Macallan's commitment to 100% natural colour, drawn from the wood of 100% sherry seasoned American and European oak casks maturation. And last but not least, the “Boutique Collection” which is created only for visitors to the Macallan Boutiques.
