Bowmore & Laphroaig Reveal Limited Fèis Ìle 2025 Whiskies

As the Fèis Ìle 2025 celebrations sweep across Islay, two of the island’s most revered distilleries, Bowmore and Laphroaig, present their highly anticipated limited editions. These exclusive releases—Bowmore Fèis Ìle 2025 and Laphroaig Càirdeas Lore Cask Strength—pay tribute to tradition, innovation, and the unmistakable character of Islay whiskies. Available this week, both expressions are set to captivate collectors and peat lovers alike.

Distinctive Presentation and Craftsmanship

Bowmore’s release is a single cask bottling matured for eight years in the distillery’s legendary No. 1 Vaults, crafted entirely with 100% floor-malted barley, hand-turned at Bowmore’s own maltings. With a robust 57% ABV, this expression reflects artisanal dedication, from barley to bottle. Each bottle has been hand-filled at the historic warehouse, ensuring authenticity and individuality.

In contrast, Laphroaig offers a bold blend under its beloved Càirdeas label. The Lore Cask Strength edition is matured in five of the distillery’s favorite cask types: Oloroso sherry, European oak, ex-bourbon, and quarter casks. Bottled at an intense 59.6% ABV, its antique gold color hints at the layered flavor journey inside.

Maturation and Flavor Profile

Bowmore’s exclusive bottling unites earthy peat smoke with tropical and maritime notes, capturing the distillery’s signature balance and depth.

Distillery manager David Turner explains: “This exclusive is a whisky that captures the essence of our signature balance, complexity, and sense of place. Crafted with 100% floor malted barley, we celebrate the vital role of this age-old process in creating layers of flavour.”

Laphroaig’s powerhouse expression is described as the boldest and most intense in the distillery’s portfolio to date. Its rich aroma of peach, apricot, and vanilla fudge is followed by an explosive tasting experience of peat and salty spray.

Bowmore Fèis Ìle 2025 will be available from May 28 at the distillery for £120, while Laphroaig Càirdeas Lore Cask Strength is being released this week in celebration of the festival.
