Stauning R.Y.E.

Description

Stauning R.Y.E. is a Danish whisky made from 100% locally sourced, floor malted rye and barley, double distilled in small direct fired copper pot stills and matured in virgin American white oak barrels. Freshly baked rye bread, wine gums and a touch of pepper lead the nose; the soft palate brings dried fruit, ripe cherries and peppery oak, balanced by vanilla and citrus peel, and the finish is peppery, long and smooth, with fruity and sweet notes. Bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration or added colour, it reflects over 2000 years of rye cultivation on the west coast of Denmark.
