Secret Orkney 14 Years Old Legendary Casks Galahad Tastillery

Description

Secret Orkney 14 Years Old Legendary Casks Galahad Tastillery is the sixth release in the Legendary Casks series, a single cask single malt from an undisclosed Orkney distillery that matured in a first fill Palo Cortado sherry cask before a seven month finish in two freshly emptied ex Islay casks. Bottled by Tastillery at 55.2% ABV and limited to 294 bottles, it shows heather, sea salt, dark roasted malt, red grapes and preserved plums on the nose, with a distant hint of peat smoke. The palate opens with an intense fruitiness that recalls very dry sherry before turning mineral, with syrupy sweetness and gentle peat, and the finish moves through oak spice, leather, chilli and white pepper to the scent of a distant campfire.
