Secret Islay 13 Years Old 2013 Best Kept Secrets The Caskhound is an unpeated Islay single malt from independent bottler The Caskhound, matured for 13 years in a first fill Marsala barrique and bottled at 55.9% ABV without chill filtration or added colour. The nose offers ripe apricots, plums, marzipan and candied orange; the palate is full and oily with dark grapes, raisins, nougat and roasted nuts; the finish is long, warming and increasingly dry with tannins, leather, dark chocolate and walnuts. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2026, this is the first release in The Caskhound's Best Kept Secrets series, with an outturn of 272 bottles. It is a rich, Marsala driven, unpeated Islay dram that sees the full, winey sweetness of the cask outweigh any expectation of smoke.
