Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2016 is one of the world’s most iconic prestige champagnes, celebrated for its precision, purity, and extraordinary aging potential. The 2016 vintage is widely regarded as crystalline, focused, and profoundly mineral-driven. The blend consists of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay; 31% of the base wines were aged in French oak and no malolactic fermentation was carried out to preserve freshness and tension. With a dosage of 7 g/L, Cristal 2016 shows a brilliant golden colour with ultra-fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it reveals complex aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, mirabelle, peach, chalk, wet stone, buttery pastry, saffron, and white chocolate. The palate is medium to full-bodied, chiselled, and saline, with serious concentration, vibrant acidity, and electric energy. The long, intensely mineral finish layers chalk, citrus, and subtle oceanic notes. A truly spectacular champagne that will reward cellaring through 2050.
