Description
A characterful single malt whisky from the island of Sylt: Its rugged coastline, endless sandy beaches, and imposing cliffs make Sylt a truly unique place to mature our SILD Single Malt “Jöl en Reek.” The name “Jöl en Reek,” originating from the Sölring dialect of North Frisian, translates to “Fire and Smoke,” reflecting both its homeland ties and the use of regional ingredients such as Sylt peat.
Tasting Notes:
Bold yet pleasant peat and smoky aromas on the nose, accompanied by hints of caramel, roasted almonds, and oak, evolve into a distinctive palate of smoky sweetness and charred wood. A fine spicy and slightly salty bouquet completes the flavor profile. The finish is long and well-balanced, with spicy nuances of pepper, nutmeg, heather, and peat.
