Description
The Hakushu Sherry Cask 2013 Edition is one of the most sought-after Japanese single malt whiskies of the modern Suntory era and is now considered a true collector’s rarity. Produced at the Hakushu Distillery, founded in 1973 and nestled in the forests of Mount Kaikomagatake in the Southern Japanese Alps, this limited release stands out for its rich sherry cask influence and refined complexity. Matured exclusively in carefully selected ex-sherry casks, the whisky was bottled on February 5, 2013, with a total outturn of just 3,000 bottles. Bottled at 48.0% ABV, it displays a deep mahogany colour and a full-bodied yet elegant profile. The nose reveals sweet aromas of tea, raisins and nutmeg. On the palate, it is smooth and layered, alternating between sweet, sour and lightly bitter notes with pronounced sherry and fruit characteristics. The long finish lingers with a harmonious balance of sweetness, acidity and gentle bitterness. A highly collectible Japanese single malt prized by enthusiasts and investors alike.
