The Glenfarclas 22 Years Old “The Spirit of the Millennium” is a special official bottling released around the year 2000 to mark the turn of the millennium. Limited to approximately 2,000 bottles, this expression has become a sought-after collector’s piece from the iconic Speyside distillery Glenfarclas. Bottled at 43% ABV, it perfectly represents the distillery’s traditional, pleasure-driven house style. On the nose, it is highly expressive, opening with apricot jam and honey, followed by gentle caramel, fudge and a discreet meaty richness from the sherry casks, without being overtly sherried. The palate is round and creamy, dominated by honey, sultanas, toffee and nougat, with hints of old sweet white wine and a subtle saline touch. The finish is long and warming, evolving into buttered fudge, dark toffee and a faint echo of strawberry jam. A beautifully balanced and elegant whisky that prioritises enjoyment and harmony over sheer complexity.
