A genuine curiosity for collectors as much as a drinker's whisky, and one that should hold its story better than most limited editions.

Dalmore King Alexander III. Now €190 (32% off). Dalmore's flagship multi-cask release, finished across a mix of casks including sherry, port, madeira, marsala and cabernet sauvignon rather than leaning on one style. It's the one bottle in this section built for range instead of a single dominant character, worth trying if you want to see how far sherry-adjacent maturation can be pushed.

Islay and Island Icons: Bowmore, Highland Park, Laphroaig, Ardnahoe and Talisker

Laphroaig 33 Years Old Characters Chapter One Donald Johnston. Now €674 (39% off). A genuine rarity from one of Islay's most intensely peated distilleries, with 33 years to soften the smoke into something layered and complex. Better suited to a slow evening than a quick pour, once autumn gives you the time to sit with it.

Talisker 10 Years Old Single Malt Whisky. Now €28 (28% off). Maritime and peppery rather than heavily peated, this is one of the few bottles in the sale we'd actually recommend for a whisky highball. Its character holds up well over ice and soda, which makes it a good pick for the last warm evenings before the weather turns.

Bowmore 40 Years Old 2024 Release. Now €5,811 (38% off). The oldest bottle in this year's Islay lineup, from a distillery founded in 1779. This is squarely a collector's release rather than an everyday dram, and one of the rarer things you'll find in this sale at any price.

Highland Park 18 Years Old Viking Pride. Now €127 (21% off). Highland Park's house style balances peat smoke with heather-honey sweetness rather than leaning fully into smoke, making this a good pick if you find pure Islay whisky too intense. It works equally well poured neat as the weather cools or with a splash of water on a warm evening.

Ardnahoe 6 Years Old Chairman's Selection Limited Edition. Now €95 (21% off). From one of Islay's newest distilleries, open only since 2018. An early release worth watching if you're curious how a young distillery's whisky develops, since bottlings like this tend to get more interesting to look back on years later.

Highland Discoveries: Glenglassaugh and Balblair

Two coastal and northern Highland distilleries that reward a closer look, both new to this year's selection.

Glenglassaugh Sandend. Now €37 (38% off). Named after the fishing village near the distillery, matured across bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks for a fuller, saltier character than the entry-level expressions. That saltier edge suits cooler, greyer days more than peak summer heat.

Balblair 15 Years Old. Now €75 (17% off). A well-priced entry point into a distillery many collectors discover later than they wish they had. Non-chill filtered and at a natural cask strength presentation, it has enough backbone to hold up once the nights start drawing in.

Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old. Now €33 (34% off). Glenglassaugh's youngest core expression and the most affordable way into its coastal style, if you want to try before going further up the range.

Glenglassaugh 15 Years Old. Now €58 (28% off). Three more years in cask than the 12 Years Old above, for a rounder, more developed version of the same coastal character.

Glenglassaugh Portsoy. Now €40 (38% off). Named after the fishing village next to Sandend, this is the other half of Glenglassaugh's two coastal-village expressions, worth comparing against Sandend side by side.

Japanese Whisky Highlights: Hakushu, Hibiki and Yamazaki

Hibiki 21 Years Old 100th Anniversary Limited Edition. Now €3,155 (37% off). A genuinely limited anniversary release marking 100 years of Suntory whisky making, worth securing before it sells out rather than waiting. Anniversary editions like this rarely come back once they're gone.

Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt. Now €54 (45% off). Hakushu's forest-set distillery gives its whisky a green, herbal freshness that makes this an approachable, well-priced entry point into Japanese single malt. That freshness makes it genuinely good chilled or in a highball through the last warm days of summer.

Hakushu 18 Years Old Single Malt Whisky. Now €464 (34% off). The standard age-statement expression from Hakushu, and the clearest example of the distillery's fresher, greener house style at full maturity.

Hakushu 18 Years Old Peated Malt 100th Anniversary Edition. Now €928 (48% off). An unusual peated expression from a distillery not normally associated with smoke, released to mark Suntory's 100th anniversary. Worth trying if you want something smoky but lighter than a typical Islay as autumn sets in.

Yamazaki Distillers Reserve Single Malt Whisky. Now €54 (45% off). From Suntory's original distillery, built in 1923 as Japan's first, and the natural companion bottle to the Hakushu Distillers Reserve above.

Campbeltown and Speyside Classics: Longrow, Springbank, Kilkerran, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich, Singleton of Dufftown and Glen Scotia

Campbeltown's cask strength bottlings sit alongside Speyside classics and two motorsport-branded Glenfiddich releases new to this year's sale.

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Small Batch 14. Now €51 (32% off). A genuinely smoky dram from Campbeltown rather than Islay, with enough peat character to suit cooler autumn evenings once the season turns and you want something with more weight than a summer dram.

Glenfiddich 19 Years Old Aston Martin Formula One Team. Now €130 (24% off). A distinctive pick for collectors drawn to motorsport partnership releases, finished across fine wine, port and sherry casks for extra depth. The kind of bottle that appeals as much for the story as the whisky itself.

Springbank 5 Years Old 100 Proof 2025. Now €47 (24% off). Bottled at cask strength (57.1%) rather than diluted down, this is Campbeltown's best-known name in its rawest, most concentrated form. Add a splash of water and it opens up differently depending on how warm the room is, worth trying both ways.

Longrow Peated Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Now €47 (24% off). Springbank distillery's fully peated sister brand, distinct in style from the Kilkerran above despite being made a few hundred metres apart. Another solid option once you're after something smokier as the weather cools.

Glen Scotia 9 Years Old Campbeltown Malts Festival 2025. Now €55 (31% off). A festival-exclusive bottling finished in Ribera del Duero wine casks, made specifically for the Campbeltown Malts Festival.

Irish Whiskey and Beyond: Midleton, Redbreast, Scapa, Royal Salute, Woodford Reserve and Stagg Jr.

This range spans everyday Irish pot still whiskey through to one of Scotland's most storied blended releases, plus two American bourbons at opposite ends of the style: one finished and mellowed, one bottled raw at cask strength.

Royal Salute 38 Years Old Stone of Destiny. Now €775 (48% off). A blended Scotch rather than a single malt, built from stocks aged 38 years and older and named after the Stone of Destiny used in Scottish coronations for centuries. If most of your list already leans single malt, this is a different kind of gift for someone who wants to try something rarer.

Redbreast 15 Years Old Triple Distilled And Matured. Now €68 (15% off). Triple distilled for a smoother, rounder profile, this is an approachable and well-priced way into Irish pot still whiskey. Easy enough to drink year round, whether that's neat in summer or with a splash of water once it's colder.

Woodford Reserve Master's Collection 20 Madeira Finish. Now €104 (31% off). A rare chance to bring a Kentucky bourbon into a predominantly Scotch and Irish selection. The Madeira cask finish adds a fruitier, sweeter edge than Woodford's standard release, and bourbon's natural sweetness makes it an easy match for warm-weather cocktails too.

Midleton Very Rare Vintage Release 2024. Now €160 (36% off). Ireland's original annual prestige release, first bottled in 1984 and still one of the most collected Irish whiskeys made.

Redbreast 27 Years Old Ruby Port Cask. Now €405 (42% off). The oldest Redbreast in this sale, finished in ruby port casks for a fruitier, richer style than the standard range.

Stagg Jr. Bourbon Batch 25B. Now €200 (33% off). Buffalo Trace's cask strength bourbon, bottled straight from the barrel at over 126 proof (about 63% ABV) with nothing cut or filtered. It's the more attainable sibling to the sought-after annual George T. Stagg release, and a different kind of bourbon next to the Woodford Reserve above: raw and high proof rather than finished and mellowed.
