Caol Ila 16 Years Old 2010 Godzilla Thompson Bros is a single malt from the Caol Ila Distillery on Islay, distilled in 2010 and bottled by Thompson Bros of Dornoch at 56.1% ABV after more than 16 years, limited to 221 bottles in the TOHO Monsters Whisky Collection. Japanese distributor Liquor Kimura chose the cask together with Takayuki Miura of Bar Heather Honey in Osaka to mark the cinema release of Godzilla Minus Zero, and the label is a painting by Yuji Murakami. Gentle peat smoke opens into burnt caramel, coffee candy, lemon peel, fennel and sea salt; the oily palate brings candied orange peel and lightly sweetened coffee, with a finish recalling warm lemon tea by a seaside bonfire.
