Caol Ila 11 Years Old 2014 Benchmark Murray McDavid Cask Nr.2100638 is a single malt from the Islay distillery, independently bottled by Murray McDavid at 56.5% ABV after an initial maturation followed by a five year finish in a first fill Madeira barrique from Justino's. Ripe apple and bitter orange meet dried wood spice and fruit marmalade on the nose, leading to grilled peach, pronounced peat smoke, an oily character, and subtle fruit sweetness, with a prolonged finish of prominent peat, light malt sweetness, and red apple. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2026, this release is limited to 281 bottles. The result is a peaty, fruit forward, island style dram shaped by its wine cask finish.
