Bruichladdich 14 Years Old 2011 Islay Barley is the oldest release yet in the Islay Barley series, an unpeated single malt drawn from the rare 2011 vintage stocks, distilled in the last year Bruichladdich was independently owned and run. Made from barley from six local farms within an eight mile radius, it matured in American and French oak, including ex Sauternes and first growth Bordeaux casks, and is bottled at 50% ABV. The nose brings kiln dried barley, honeycomb, vanilla custard, poached pear, melon and apricot; the palate follows with honeyed oat biscuits, creamy caramel, ripe orchard fruits, butterscotch and gentle oak spice.
