Speyside Distillery Relaunches with Bourbon, Sherry & Toasted Oak Maturations
Tormore, the Speyside distillery quietly resting in the shadows of Scotland’s whisky giants, has made a bold return to the spotlight. Under the new ownership of family-run Elixir Distillers, Tormore has just launched its first official release in years: the Blueprint series, a trio of 10-year-old single malt Scotch whiskies. Each expression in this globally available, limited-edition collection showcases a unique maturation approach—Bourbon Barrel, Cream Sherry Cask, and Toasted Barrel—all bottled at 48% ABV and retailing at £59.95.
This release signals a new era for Tormore, one rooted in tradition and craftsmanship, aiming to restore the distillery's signature fruit-forward spirit while inviting a global audience to rediscover its heritage.
Refined Packaging for a Refined Revival
The Blueprint series presents a clean, modern design that subtly nods to Tormore’s rich architectural legacy and renewed identity. With a sleek bottle silhouette and clear labeling for each cask type, the collection's presentation complements its theme of transparency and precision—each whisky expression being a "blueprint" for future releases.
Three Distinct Maturations – One Vision
Tormore’s new whiskies each reveal a different facet of the distillery's fruity DNA:
- The Bourbon Barrel edition, matured in first-fill casks, reveals notes of light caramel, coconut, pear, nectarine, and walnut—evoking custard and peach tart.
- The Cream Sherry Cask variant draws on the richness of Pedro Ximénez, layering dried fruit, orange peel, and sweet warmth onto the classic Speyside profile.
- The Toasted Barrel expression, aged in virgin American oak with a custom toast and medium char, builds soft rye spice and caramel complexity with heightened vanillin extraction.
A Word from the Distillery
“We are incredibly excited to offer our Tormore Blueprint to market,” says Polly Logan, Distillery Manager. “This is a first step in showcasing our wonderful spirit and giving a sneak preview of our future Tormore bottlings – and we are so proud of the whisky.”
Tormore's Future Takes Shape
More than a limited release, the Blueprint series represents a confident reawakening of Tormore. With only 1,500 bottles of each variant available worldwide, this trilogy is both a collector’s item and a signal of what’s to come. Ahead of a full brand relaunch in 2026, Tormore is once again on the map—this time, with purpose and poise.
