This release, limited to just 108 bottles, pays tribute to former Master Blender Jack Goudy, mentor to current Master Blender Sandy Hyslop. Revered for its precision and timing in blending, this expression highlights the signature Miltonduff single malt character and Ballantine’s enduring craftsmanship.

Design & Presentation

Each bottle in Ballantine’s 40 Years Old Masterclass Collection Chapter 3: The Moment is individually serialized and housed in a hand-finished wood veneer cabinet. The packaging features sustainable oak with finely woven fabric accents and burnished engraved metal hardware. A paper panel designed by Scottish artist Kyla McCallum, inspired by the whisky maturation warehouses, accompanies the bottle—symbolizing the precise moment the whisky reaches its peak.

Maturation & Flavor Profile

Master Blender Sandy Hyslop personally crafts the whisky at cask strength, ensuring a unique profile for each release. The liquid showcases Miltonduff’s rich character with a profile of intense sweetness and fruit balanced by warming spices. This blend reflects decades of expert curation from hundreds of casks, combining caramelized red apples, cinnamon-spiced banana loaf, and toasted coconut on the nose, with layers of vanilla custard and milk chocolate on the palate.
